Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who took charge as the youngest Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh at the age of 45 in 1995, has completed thirty years today by serving as the Chief Minister four times in three decades.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is known for his vision, planning and innovative schemes for the welfare of all sections of the people, believing that river interlinking will pave the way for the prosperity of all parts of the country.
Terming the Polavaram project as the lifeblood of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has committed to completing the project by the end of 2027 at any cost. Fully aware of the importance of river linkages to supply water to all parts of the state, the Chief Minister launched the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme in January 2018 and linked the Godavari and Krishna rivers through the Polavaram Right Canal.
As part of his continuous efforts to safeguard the interests of farmers, the Chief Minister is encouraging farmers to adopt natural farming for quality perfection of food products that meet global standards. As a result of the Chief Minister’s efforts, Andhra Pradesh attracted investments of Rs. 9000 crores in the food processing sector alone last year.
The Chief Minister, an IT expert who played a key role in developing Hyderabad as the IT capital of India and has become an inspiration to lakhs of technicians across the world, has now focused on the development of the capital city of Amaravati and initiated steps to develop Amaravati as a Quantum Computing Valley.
In a bid to harness cutting-edge technology, the Chandrababu Naidu government is providing 700 public services through WhatsApp under the name of Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance Platform.
A great reformer from the beginning, Chandrababu Naidu started DWCRA groups, the first self-help women’s groups for the economic upliftment of women. This system is being followed across the country. He played a key role in bringing governance to the people’s doorstep by introducing the Prajak Palana and by involving people in serving their native villages through the Janmabhoomi programme.
Having developed the Vision 2020 policy in the early years of his tenure, Chandrababu Naidu is now championing Swarna Andhra 2047 to transform the state into a $2.4 trillion economy and make Andhra Pradesh a poverty-free state on the lines of Vikshith Bharat 2047.
Having earlier promoted one technician per family, Chandrababu Naidu is now promoting one entrepreneur per family for the economic upliftment of people from all sections. Giving high priority to the welfare of BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, the Chief Minister has launched several schemes for education and the upliftment of these sections. By providing reservations in local bodies, women and BCs have been given representation at the grassroots level in the administration.
The bold reforms undertaken by the visionary leader in the power sector have brought stability to the power sector. Chandrababu Naidu is now focusing on green energy and is promoting the solar and wind power sectors as part of it. As a result of his efforts, the power generation capacity has increased from 5634 MW to 10,695 MW, registering a 90 percent growth in the power sector, which has made Andhra Pradesh a power surplus state.
Chandrababu Naidu, who believes in bringing world-class infrastructure and playing a key role in the development of Hyderabad Airport, is now focusing more on the development of airports and ports in Andhra Pradesh – gifting the 1000 km long coastline as a logistics hub.
As a reformer in the education sector, Chandrababu has developed Andhra Pradesh into a knowledge economy by giving high priority to education as well as skill development for students.
After Chandrababu Naidu came to power in the state, by establishing himself as a brand for IT, development and pro-people reforms, Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments worth Rs. 9.34 lakh crore in the last one year. Investors are coming forward to invest in large scale due to the favorable environment for industries in the state. This is Chandrababu’s credit.
