The state medical and health department has suspended orthopedic doctor Satyasagar and staff nurse Padmavati in the incident of a surgical blade being inserted inside a young man during a surgery at a government area hospital in Tuni, Kakinada district. Andhra Pradesh.
The suspension orders were issued by the Director of Secondary Health on the orders of Minister Sri Satyakumar Yadav. A young man was injured in a road accident and had a steel rod inserted through surgery… As the pain was severe, doctor Satyasagar removed the screw on November 27, but the surgical blade used during the surgery was left inside and stitched.
The young man’s pain increased again. X-ray showed that the blade was inside. Expressing deep anger over the negligence of the medical staff who acted irresponsibly in the performance of their duties, the State Medical and Health Minister, Shri Satyakumar Yadav, has ordered the Director of Secondary Health, Chakradhara Babu, to conduct an inquiry and report back.
He conducted an inquiry to this extent. The explanation given by the hospital superintendent on this incident was not satisfactory. A more in-depth investigation was conducted by the District Officer. As a result, it was found that Doctor Satyasagar and Staff Nurse Padmavati acted irresponsibly during the surgery.
Following this report, as per the orders issued by Minister Shri Satyakumar Yadav, D.S.H. Chakradhara Babu suspended the Ortho Doctor and Staff Nurse on Sunday.
Minister Satyakumar warned that strict action will be taken if they do not act vigilantly in the performance of their duties.
