Monitor, Alert, Rescue, Rehabilitation, Normalcy. This is the Panchasutra plan implemented by the team led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in the case of Cyclone Montha.
Continuous monitoring since the cyclone warnings came… from time to time, the authorities… alerting people, helping those in the flooded areas, rehabilitating them… after the cyclone subsided… bringing normal conditions. The team led by CM Chandrababu Naidu focused fully on these issues during Cyclone Montha.
Adding full-scale technology to this, and making teams of ministers, officials and employees work effectively at the field level, the damage caused by Cyclone Montha was largely prevented. Since there is no way to prevent a natural disaster… the Andhra Pradesh team worked with the aim of reducing the damage as much as possible. The authorities worked day and night for five days to reduce the loss of life and property.
This has now yielded positive results. CM Chandrababu Naidu was alerted when the weather warning that Cyclone Montha would have a major impact on the state came. Continuously monitoring the movements of the cyclone… Monitoring the areas where the cyclone is likely to have a major impact… Alerting those at the field level to that end… Even if Cyclone Montha hits the coast… the government has taken all kinds of precautions to prevent people from having a major impact.
People in areas where there is a slight impact have also been shifted to rehabilitation camps. More than one lakh people have been shifted to rehabilitation camps and all kinds of arrangements have been made. The process of taking information in real time from the field level… analyzing it… passing it on to the responsible persons of the respective departments… and ensuring that the problem is resolved has been effectively implemented by the team led by CM Chandrababu Naidu. CM Chandrababu Naidu visited the field level and assured the victims
The government has worked to reduce the loss of life and property during this disaster. From infants to the elderly.. and pregnant women have also been shifted to the care center. The machinery has been fully prepared to save the lives of livestock.
Technology has been added to this. As part of this, 1.1 crore messages have been sent to the people in the affected areas. Also, technology has been added and a system of making announcements through mics has been made available in the villages. Not only has a system been created to operate that mic announcement through cell phones from the RTG center.. but steps have been taken to ensure that the system works through satellite if there is no cell phone signal.
Due to such measures, it has become easier to bring people to the rehabilitation camps in the affected areas compared to the past. Naturally, the people of Sri Lankan villages do not want to leave their homes. Even when cyclones come… they climb onto the roofs of their houses. But the government, in addition to alerting in advance… field staff also went door to door and convinced them and brought them to storm shelters.
With this, there was no place for loss of life. It has been proven once again that lives can be saved through the use of technology.
Even if electric poles fell or wires were cut, traffic jams did not occur due to them and accidents did not occur. They were removed immediately. The power system was restored in a very short time.
For this, the necessary equipment and vehicles were prepared in advance. Thousands of machines.. vehicles were used in a planned manner. JCBs were also prepared on a large scale for relief operations. By setting up a live tracking system for them, it was possible to use them as needed. In the past, when there was rain.. when there was flooding.. boats were swept away.. and hit the gates of barrages hard. But this time, precautions were taken to prevent such mistakes.
The rehabilitation camps were prepared in advance. CM Chandrababu ordered to put an end to the situation of hastily setting up relief camps whenever necessary.
Medical teams were also prepared. The government also prepared essential items and financial assistance for the victims in advance. In addition to taking precautions regarding the rehabilitation camps, plans were also prepared to bring normal conditions to the affected areas after the cyclone.

The government also quickly made crop damage estimates and submitted reports to the center as soon as possible.
