The Central Government has introduced a new law with the aim of making the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) flawless, MLA N . Rama Krishna Reddy said. While previously 100 days of work were provided to each wage earner, this has now been increased to 125 days. Similarly, changes have been made to provide unemployment allowance if the number of working days decreases.
In view of the difficulties faced by farmers due to NREGA, the new law stipulates that work days should not be assigned for 60 days during the agricultural season. The objectives include water conservation, infrastructure development, groundwater conservation, and providing facilities for cattle rearing.

Ramakrishna Reddy stated that priority is being given to the creation of infrastructure in villages with NREGA funds.
