The development of the animal husbandry sector plays a key role in increasing farmer income, District Collector Kirti Chekuri said that cow-based natural farming should be strongly expanded at the village level.
On Tuesday, a progress review meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department was held under the auspices of District Collector Kirti Chekuri at the Collector Camp Office.
On this occasion, Collector Kirti Chekuri reviewed the implementation of the Animal Husbandry Department programs and the progress achieved mandal-wise and instructed the officials to complete the targets in a timely manner.
Speaking on this occasion, District Collector Kirti Chekuri suggested collecting applications from farmers to achieve the targets of Gokulam sheds and taking sanctions according to them. She said that the multi-annual animal feed targets should be achieved on time, and the progress in each mandal should be thoroughly reviewed and appropriate measures should be taken based on KPI.
Recognizing the importance of white cattle in cow-based organic farming, the Collector directed the Animal Health Workers (AHA) to work in coordination with the organic farming staff.

She also advised that training and guidelines should be provided continuously to the animal health workers to ensure that they have complete understanding of organic farming. She directed the officials to assess the level of understanding of the animal health workers on organic farming in the district reviews held every week and to encourage them accordingly.
