(Five-Star Rating News service by Google. AMARAVATI : Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav said that 100 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) are being constructed in the state at a cost of Rs. 194 crores. The Minister said that 1144 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) are already functioning in the state and they have their own buildings. He said that another 88 PHCs have been sanctioned and their construction is in various stages.

In response to a question raised by several members regarding the buildings of Primary Health Centres in the Legislative Council on Tuesday The Minister replied. He said that 12 PHCs need new buildings and steps are being taken in that direction.

He said that the primary health centers have been further strengthened to provide comprehensive medical services to the rural poor. The Minister explained that 976 PHC buildings have been completely renovated and steps have been taken to provide basic facilities in 152 new PHCs.

The Minister said that there are 1144 PHCs in rural areas and 560 UPHCs in urban areas. He said that 2500 doctors and paramedical staff have been recently appointed to make services more accessible in rural and urban primary health centers, The Minister informed the House that steps have been taken to appoint 110 more doctors soon.

Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu has launched the ‘Sanjeevani’ programme with the aim of taking preventive health care based on the person (electronic health record).

The Minister said that the government has signed an agreement with Tata MD for the recruitment of staff required for the effective implementation of this programme and also with the Gates Foundation for technology transformation. As part of the implementation of the Sanjeevani programme, training has also been provided to all the staff.

Wherever there is an opportunity in PHCs The minister said that trained doctors and nursing staff are conducting deliveries. He said that ultrasound scans and Tifa scans are required for deliveries and these are being done in 30-bed community health centres (CHCs).

He said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is also creating a unique ID with the aim of digitizing everyone’s health record. In response to another question, the minister said that 19 dialysis centres have been sanctioned in 25 months. The minister explained to the House that there are no dialysis centres in PHCs, but in CHCs.
