Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan went knee-deep in mud. He consoled the farmers by listening to their hardships. He went to the crop fields and inspected the crop damage caused by the cyclone. He listened to the grievances of the banana farmers.

He assured them that we are in their distress. On Thursday, in the cyclone-affected areas of Krishna district, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan went to the paddy fields in Krishnapuram village to inspect the cyclone-affected areas. He went down into the mud and asked the farmers about the details of the crops that had fallen.

He inspected the paddy husks in the stomach stage. He assured the coalition government that they would provide all possible help.

The five-acre paddy crop of a farmer named Sri Kota Ramesh from Krishnapuram village was completely destroyed. As part of Pawan Kalyan’s visit, the farmer explained to him the hardship he faced. He said that the crop was completely destroyed due to the storm that hit just when the paddy was in the stage of milking, and that it was not working for some reason. He said that if it stopped for another two weeks, the crop would have been ready for harvesting.

He spoke to farmers named Sri Venkateswara Rao and Sri Gowada Nageswara Rao and found out the details of the damage. He examined the water-soaked grains. He advised the District Collector to submit crop damage reports immediately. Several people brought to Pawan Kalyan’s attention that tenant farmers were also among the victims, and he wanted to help them.

He assured that justice would be done to the tenant farmers who suffered losses due to the storm. He instructed the Agriculture Department officials to prepare reports accordingly.

Pawan Kalyan inspected the banana plantation damaged by the cyclone near Ramachandrapuram in Avanigadda mandal. He found that the banana plantation of a farmer named Vishnu Murthy was completely leveled to the ground due to the strong winds that blew during the cyclone. The farmer explained to Pawan Kalyan that about 1400 banana bunches were useless.

He suggested that the horticulture department officials should think in a way that would benefit the farmers while assessing the crop loss. He said that comprehensive reports should be prepared with details such as how much the damaged banana plantation will be useful? Will the plantation survive or not? How much will it cost to remove the entire crop and replant it?

On this occasion, local legislator Sri Mandali Buddhaprasad brought to Pawan Kalyan’s attention the fact that the coastal villages in Kodur and Avanigadda mandals are suffering crop damage due to the sea tide.

He said that due to the damage of the outfall sluices built during the British era on the sea embankment, sea water is entering the crop fields during the high tide. He said that if new sluices are constructed, crops in 5,000 acres can be saved.

Pawan Kalyan interacted with the people throughout his tour. After consulting the farmers, on the return journey, he went to Viswanathapalle, V.Kothapalem, Machavaram and other villages between Kodur and Avanigadda to meet the people who were lined up on the roads and learned about their problems.

Pawan Kalyan greeted the vendors selling vegetables and coconuts on the roadside near Puligadda. He met the people there. He inquired about whether any damage had been caused due to the impact of the cyclone. He asked about the family’s circumstances.

They requested that their suggestion of constructing another road parallel to the existing national highway, directly connecting it to the port road, be considered instead of widening it.
