The arrival of the global tech giant Cognizant in Visakhapatnam is a historic milestone in the state’s development, said Telugu Desam Party state official spokesperson Patharla Ramesh. He said that the launch of ‘Speed of Doing Business’ in the state is a testament to the confidence that Cognizant has in the state. The company, which has announced a massive investment of Rs. 1500 crore,
is already providing employment to a thousand young people in its temporary campus and will provide 8,000 job opportunities.
He added that Cognizant’s focus on modern technological fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital engineering, and cloud solutions is ushering in a new tech era in Visakhapatnam.
He stated that strengthening Visakhapatnam’s digital ecosystem will elevate the city to an international level. He added that this is not just an investment in land, but an investment in opportunities, and every seat in this campus will represent a job, a hope, and a new path for the future of our youth.
He mentioned that young leader Nara Lokesh personally worked hard to bring this prestigious company to Visakhapatnam. During his visit to Davos, he met with the Cognizant leadership, explained the state’s abundant resources, industrial environment, affordable land, and investment incentives, and invited them to invest. He stated that it was due to Minister Lokesh’s efforts that Cognizant chose Visakhapatnam as its next global destination.
He added that young people who have studied in the IT sector will now have access to high-paying jobs in their hometowns without having to go elsewhere. He stated that this project will lead to the rapid growth of housing, transportation, startup services, and small businesses, thus developing the ecosystem.
He further stated that the permanent campus to be built in Visakhapatnam will be designed with global standards and keeping future needs in mind, and that it will bring a new identity to the city in the IT sector. He said that although the industrial environment in the state deteriorated due to the destructive policies of the YSRCP, the state is now once again moving towards a growth path that will attract global attention.
Ramesh said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is reviewing development schemes every day for the development of the state and is working tirelessly to bring world-class industries to the state.
