Amaravathi: Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh has directed the officials to promote the tourism sector of Andhra Pradesh in various forms and speed up social media campaigns to attract tourists on a large scale.
The second meeting of the Marketing Committee was held on Wednesday in his chamber in the second block of the Velagapudi Secretariat under the chairmanship of Minister Kandula Durgesh on an agenda consisting of 30 items. On this occasion, a lengthy discussion was held on the issues of promotion, marketing, events, festivals, advertisements and other issues to be provided to the Tourism Department.
Recently, the Amaravati Avakai Festival, Visakha Utsav, Araku, Anakapalle, Gandikota, Flamingo Festival, Minister Durgesh reviewed the recognition received by the tourism department through programs like Pithapuram Sankranti celebrations, Kondaveedu Festival, S Yanam Beach Festival, Kangundi Bouldering Festival, Pakala Beach Festival.
He inquired about the performance of event management agencies in organizing festivals. He advised the officials to speed up social media campaigns to reach more people with a low budget.
He ordered digital content and videos that show the uniqueness of the tourist destinations in the state go viral. He wanted to provide clear information on the facilities available to tourists. Minister Durgesh explained to the officials the promotional plan, tourism brochures, coffee table books and the expenses incurred for the related festivals.
Minister Durgesh stated that Andhra Pradesh should be fully prepared to showcase its tourism potential at the ‘ITB Berlin’ conference to be held in Germany in March 2026.
The committee approved the major programs to be organized in the coming days. On this occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh Speaking, he said that steps should be taken to ensure that tourists have a pleasant time and thereby generate revenue for the government.
He said that from now on, any festival should be taken to the people in advance through ‘curtain raisers’.
