The main reason for the stampede at the Venkateswara Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, is the lack of a large number of devotees.

Among the dead, 9 women and a 12-year-old boy. It is reported that the death toll is likely to rise. Many were seriously injured. The injured were taken to Visakhapatnam KGH for treatment. Police have reached the spot and are investigating the situation. It is believed that the incident took place when the railing installed at the temple collapsed and all the devotees fell down.

The temple has a capacity of 2-3 thousand, but today more than 25 thousand people gathered. Since it was Karthika Ekadashi and Saturday, a large number of devotees came to have darshan of Venkanna Swamy. Due to this, the railing at the normal level broke and the devotees fell.  Suddenly, the chaos led to a stampede.

The stampede at the Venkateswara temple, which resulted in the death of several devotees, is deeply shocking. It was a great tragedy on the day of Ekadashi. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.

Our government is providing the best medical treatment to those injured in the stampede.  As soon as I received the information, I spoke to the officials, the district minister Atchannaidu and the local MLA Gauthu Sirisha. I have ordered immediate assistance to the victims.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the incident.  He said that the stampede incident at the Kasibugga Venkateswara temple in Srikakulam district is painful.

He said that the death of devotees in this unfortunate incident is most tragic. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. He instructed the officials to provide prompt treatment to the injured.  He ordered local officials and public representatives to go to the scene and supervise the rescue operations.

State Minister Nara Lokesh, Central Minister  Ram Mohan Naidu rushed to the accident site

Minister Nara Lokesh will go to the Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga. He will review the situation there and meet the injured. On the other hand, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has left for the scene of the incident. He was on a tour of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and canceled his tour after learning about this news and left for Srikakulam.

He said that the stampede incident that took place at the Venkateswara temple in Kasibugga in Kakulam district is sad. He said that the death of devotees in this unfortunate incident is most tragic.
