The Telugu Desam Party-Andhra Pradesh TDP alliance has accused the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) of creating political smoke to evade responsibility in the adulterated ghee scam related to the preparation of Tirumala laddu prasadam.
State president Palla Srinivasa Rao told a press conference today ,that the findings of the CBI probe have “exposed” what happened during the previous regime.
He argued that the allegation of adulterated ghee being used in the preparation of prasadam at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams temple was not a procedural lapse but a violation that “shakes the moral foundation of institutional trust”.
Instead of initiating transparent corrective measures, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and senior YSRCP workers are trying to “fabricate a narrative of liberation” “The TDP leader alleged that the move was designed to preemptively avoid institutional accountability and reduce public anger,” he said, describing it as a “self-certified clean chit exercise.”
Stirring up his allegations, Mr. Srinivasa Rao alleged that the YSRCP leadership dragged Heritage Foods into the controversy to divert attention from the core issue of accountability in the temple administration.
He dismissed claims that Heritage supplied adulterated ghee to Tirumala as “baseless and speculative.” He said that claims suggesting ownership links between Heritage and the Indapur-based dairy unit were being propagated without documentary evidence.
Referring to the reported intervention of the Delhi High Court, which had ordered the removal of defamatory content within 24 hours, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the development underscores the fragility of unsubstantiated allegations when subjected to judicial scrutiny.
He said that Heritage Foods, which has been in operation for over a decade, has issued a legal notice to senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana seeking an unconditional apology and compensation.
He also pointed out statements made by former TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy. “If we accept irregularities, we cannot outsource accountability,” he said, accusing the YSRCP of trying to divert the focus of administrative responsibility.
He argued that the people of Andhra Pradesh are closely watching the developments. He said that the Tirumala shrine cannot be reduced to a platform for partisan manipulation.
He expressed confidence that as the investigation processes continue, the incidents surrounding the adulterated ghee allegations will be decided in accordance with the law. “In matters that combine governance and trust,” Srinivas said, “institutional integrity should prevail over political interests.”
