The investigation is ongoing with ongoing medical surveillance in affected areas like Chowdeshwari Nagar and Swaroop Nagar near Rajahmundry, where the condition of many, including children, is a cause for concern. The FSSAI has sought a detailed report from the Andhra Pradesh government and food safety alerts are in place across the state.
East Godavari District Collector Kirti Chekuri, who has led the investigation, has ordered high-level investigations and rapid response teams, with key officials leading the probe.
District Medical and Health Officer: K. Venkateswara Rao; State Health Commissioner: G. Veerapandian, monitoring the camps and ethylene glycol suspicions. Institute of Preventive Medicine Director Neelakantha Reddy Animal Husbandry teams have collected additional samples.
Milk samples and results Milk, blood, urine, curd, ghee, paneer, cattle feed and water samples (over 300 in total, including 41 from veterinary sources) were collected from 106 households and sent to laboratories in Hyderabad, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

The police investigation has identified the milk suppliers, distribution network and affected items. A team of four veterinary doctors is investigating the case.
Milk samples collected – 41, concentrated feed, water, dry and green fodder samples fed to the animals were collected for proximate cause analysis and toxicology analysis.These samples have been sent to VBRI (Veterinary Biological Research Institute), Vijayawada.
Strong epidemiological evidence points to milk adulteration as the cause. Immediate coordinated action has been initiated across all departments. The situation is currently under control. Senior officials including Commissioner Health and Director Food Safety are investigating round the clock..
