AMARAVATI: In the last 9 months, 281 abortions (miscarriages) have been performed in government hospitals and 5 mandals in the agency area of Eluru district, which is a very serious matter.
The coalition government should immediately form special medical teams and investigate whether abortions have really been performed or not? Are false abortions being recorded without fulfilling the delivery targets given by the government? MLC (Tanuku) Vanka Ravindra Nada Chowdhury said in the Legislative Council today that this issue is being raised.
If abortions really do occur, the reasons for it should be identified and special attention should be paid to the health of pregnant women and nutritional food and supplementary medicines should be provided in a timely manner, he appealed to the government.
Ravindra Nada Chowdhury clarified that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the health of agency women is protected and their families are free from health problems by making doctors, nursing staff, medicines and ASHA workers available in 15 health centers in Buttaigudem, Polavaram, Jeelugumilli, Kukkunur and Velurupadu mandals.
