Andhra Pradesh state government has taken a crucial decision. It has issued orders giving autonomy to priests in temples without interference from others including Government Officers from Davadaya department.
The state government has directed that no officer including the Devadaya Commissioner should interfere in Vedic duties.
It has been clarified that the priests have the final decision in matters of spiritual duties. If there is no consensus on any spiritual matters, it is suggested to take the advice of the elders.
