AP State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh said that the new tourism policy will come into force from April 2025 as the steps taken by the state government for the development of tourism at the international level. State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh revealed that the policy has been designed to attract tourists and favoring government policy.
State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh participated in the CII Tourism and Travel Summit held at Visakhapatnam on Friday. He said that giving industry status to the tourism sector is auspicious.
Regarding 2025-30, a new tourism policy is being formulated for 5 years, so that the tourism sector of Andhra Pradesh will get renewed glory. All the benefits given to industries will also be given to tourism.
The minister expressed confidence that tourism circuits are being established by connecting temple, eco, adventure, wellness and agri tourism to attract tourists and will achieve good results.
He said that a comprehensive report (DPR) on state tourism projects has been prepared and will be sent to the central government soon. He said that beach tourism will be developed in the state and a beach festival will be held in January to popularize the tourism sector of the state through films and short films. He said that all necessary steps will be taken on behalf of the state government as requested by the film industry.
A cabinet sub-committee has been formed with Ministers of Endowment, Forest and Tourism. They said that 90 percent of the tourists in the state are tourists who come to the spiritual places.
It is a matter of pride that Visakhapatnam has been given a place in South India as a growth hub city by NITI Aayog as one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Visakhapatnam will be developed as a cruise hub. He said that the issue of how to use the Rushikonda buildings will be clarified in a few months.
