“Run For Unity” Campaign & “Vigilance Seminar” held for Staff at Vijayawada
To mark the stellar contributions of Bharat Ratna Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – The Iron Man of India, in forging the Modern India, South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division organized Run for Unity Campaign today i.e., 29th October, 2024 at Vijayawada Railway Station.
Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division lead the campaign along with RPF, Staff, School students and Scouts & Guides volunteers. Shri P.E. Edwin, ADRM, Infrastructure, Shri Srinivasa Rao Konda, ADRM, Operations took part in the event. The Run For Unity was started from Clock tower, East Main Entrance, Vijayawada and ended back at Vijayawada Station Circulating area enroute Caltex road, Old govt. Hospital and railway Hospital. The Run For Unity Campaign was actively participated by railway employees enthusiastically holding placards and spreading awareness about the importance of integrity and transparency
Interacting with print and electronic media Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM said that the contributions of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the nation are monumental and unparalleled. DRM also said that young generations should draw inspiration from the life of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a Staunch Nationalist who played a pivotal role in integrating the entire nation and laid a strong foundation to United India. He exhorted the staff to draw inspiration and emulate the ideals of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In the aftermath, Shri . D. Vinayan, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, SC Railway conducted a seminar on Vigilance Awareness for Branch Officers & staff at Divisional Railway Auditorium, Vijayawada. In his welcome address, Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM thanked Shri . D. Vinayan, SDGM & CVO and Vigilance Officers Team from Headquarters for holding this valuable seminar to educate and enlighten staff on Vigilance aspects. Shri Narendra A. Patil stated that role of Vigilance Department is to act as a guiding force and advisory body to make us tread the righteous path in all circumstances
Speaking on the occasion, Shri D. Vinayan, Sr. Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer, SCR congratulated the Vijayawada Division for actively taking lead and launching outreach campaigns as prelude to Vigilance Awareness Week. SDGM said that the genesis of corruption is because of greed, opportunity, temptation, lack of value system, improper checks & balances which will result in demand & supply gap, resources gap, brooding inequality, unrest in society and too much wealth and power accumulated in limited hands. He stressed that constant endeavour of Vigilance Department always revolves around bringing systemic improvement, transparency, accountability and bridging the lacunae in the system.
Later, Vigilance Officers demonstrated case studies through PowerPoint Presentation to the large gathering. Shri D. Vinayan, SDGM and Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM distributed awards to prize winners of various competitions conducted during the three month campaign on Vigilance Awareness. The function concluded with vote of thanks by Personnel Department officials.
