As per the orders of Andhra Pradesh DGP, the police have made students aware of cyber crime.

Police will conduct an awareness seminar on ways to avoid cyber crimes and a cyber crime awareness workshop at Rajahmundry GEIT College of Pharmacy for students in East Godavari district Andhra Pradesh.

On the instructions of Andhra Pradesh State DGP Mr. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, CID Cyber ​ ​ Crimes SP Mrs. Krishna Prasanna conducted an awareness workshop on cyber crimes in the college auditorium.

Explained extensively on how to prevent cybercrimes and how victims should respond.  Importantly, those who have lost money in cybercrime have been made aware that they can immediately call the 1930 helpline, or file a complaint through the MCRP portal, https://cybercrime.gov.in.

Explain how online job scams, task based frauds and digital arrests are happening.  Rajahmundry CID staff presented the script of “Digital Arrest” in drama form and created awareness among the students.   Women students are advised to be careful not to upload personal photos on social media platforms.

In the recent past, they have been introducing themselves as customer service representatives of the bank and increasing the credit card limit, believing that they have to provide KYC details and withdrawing the cash from their account.

Job frauds in the name of real interviews, LOAN frauds are being done in the name of giving loans at very low interest rates.  .  Fake profiles, Honey Trap, Google Customer Care Fraud are also being targeted for fraud.

Don’t get lured by advertisements and offers through social media.
Awareness is important for adults, youth, and students to avoid cyber crime.  The cyber crime branch police explained that there is a need for awareness on precautionary measures, police stressed.
